Randy is a 30-and-a-half year law enforcement veteran, retiring from the Muscogee County Sheriff’s Office in 2015 with training and assignments that range from undercover narcotics investigations to serving as the Director of Homeland Security for Columbus, Georgia. He attended the Command College at Columbus State University, and the FBI National Academy in Quantico, Virginia. Randy had the pleasure of serving the citizens of Mississippi immediately following Hurricane Katrina and assisted in bringing the C.E.R.T. program from Los Angeles, California to Columbus, Georgia. Randy is an active in the Fraternal Order of Police and served as the President of the FOP Georgia State Lodge.
Actively involved in civic and political issues for nearly three decades, Randy sought to create a safer community during his career as a Law Enforcement Officer with the Muscogee County Sheriff’s Office. While Public Safety is an issue that is near and dear to his heart, Randy is also committed to strengthening Georgia’s infrastructure, striving for excellence in education, and creating and developing an environment that encourages entrepreneurship and small businesses to thrive.
Randy is married to Theresa Garcia Robertson. The couple share four children; Candice, Sara Elizabeth, and Seth (Sheila), and Andee, as well as five granddaughters; Skylar, Sally, Kindall, Kora, & Zoe. The Robertsons are members of First Baptist Church in Columbus and reside in Cataula, Georgia.
